Wellness Therapies

Acupuncture promotes relaxation, pain relief, brain clarity and increases energy and stamina. It is a safe, gentle and effective for the following conditions:

Stress Service

Plantar Fasciitis

Irregular Menses

Acupuncture is one of the longest practiced medical systems in the world. It works by affecting the quality of our energy (chi) that flows throughout the body. An imbalance in the flow of chi is how illness begins.

Acupuncture is a process, and healing occurs over a series of treatments building on each other. The benefits of acupuncture are greatly increased by receiving regular, frequent treatments. Generally it is good to come in 1 – 2 times per week until there is a change in symptoms. Each session is between 45 – 60 minutes in length.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy has been used for thousands of years as an alternative pain therapy. Cupping is safe, comfortable and remarkably effective for many health disorders.

During a cupping session plastic, silicone or glass cups are placed on the skin and a partial vacuum is created in the cups through suction. This draws up the underlying tissues and opens the meridians, allowing energy to flow through every organ and tissue of the body. When the cup is left in place on the skin, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place. It activates the lymphatic system, relieves muscles tension, joint pain and digestive disturbances and increases blood circulation. It also benefits the lungs, relieving symptoms of respiratory problems such as coughing and wheezing.

Moxa Therapy

Moxabustion or moxa, is the application of heat to a specific area on the body to warm, stimulate and increase circulation of blood flow and chi. The term moxibustion is derived from the Japanese term ‘Moe Kusa’, meaning ‘burning herb’. Moxa comes from the herbal plant arternisia vulgaris, also known as mugwort. The sponge-like herb is formed into small cones and placed against the skin and heated.

Gua Sha Healing Technique

Gua Sha (Gwa Sha) is a Chinese healing technique used to treat aching, tight and tender muscles, colds, flu, sluggishness, migraines and poor circulation. Gua means to scrape or rub. Sha is the reddish skin reaction caused by the rubbing. In each session we will focus on breaking up scar tissue and easing muscle tightness.

Every muscle in your body is wrapped in a connective tissue sheath called fascia. Fascia is supposed to glide smoothly, but sometimes scar tissue, or stagnation, builds up in the fascia and the layers bind to each other, restricting motion. Gua Sha can restore that motion.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular Acupuncture is acupuncture done on the ear. It is used to treat conditions that are present anywhere in the body. By stimulating points in the outer ear it helps to send electrical impulse messages to the brain, which then stimulate other areas of the body. In this way, auricular acupuncture can relieve pain in the joints and muscles, stimulate the organs and the brain itself, and achieve a number of other therapeutic effects for the body.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbs are plant based substances used to enhance, maintain and restore optimal health and wellness. The focus is not on fixing isolated problems but on enhancing the healing capacity and vitality of the body. Herbs are one choice for optimal health, which includes attentions to body, mind and spirit. Following are some of the conditions that Chinese herbs can treat: insomnia, fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, headaches, fertility, PMS, menstrual disorders, digestive disorders, allergies, colds, sore throat, sinus congestion, increase immunity, eczema and acne.

Acupuncture for Scar Tissue

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, scars can either cause no problem or can be the cause of significant long-term heath issues. Scar tissue can create major blocks in healing – if a person has scar tissue that is impacting the health of the body, the scar must be treated before healing can occur.

Effects of scar tissue can be quite unpredictable. For example, digestive symptoms can improve significantly if a scar on the forearm is treated, as the scar follows the Large Intestine meridian and was interrupting digestive function. Someone who has had open heart surgery can develop chronic chest pain from scar tissue. A cesarean scar can result in menstrual cramps, constipation or other types of abdominal pain or distress. The insertion of needles into the area immediately surrounding the scar will bring chi, blood and nutrients to the scar thereby reducing symptoms.

Aroma-AcuTherapy is the use of therapeutic grade essential oils to stimulate acupuncture points with or without needles.

Essential oils can be absorbed through the skin or nose. They can be used in various ways to help alleviate symptoms of insomnia, anxiety, depression, fatigue, PTSD, lack of motivation, digestive issues, muscle tension, cramps and spasms, headaches, PMS, menopause, delayed cycles, poor circulation, sinus conditions and decreased immunity. If you are having menopausal hot flashes or other hormonal imbalances, essential oils can often add a needed boost to help balance the endocrine and nervous systems.\
